Warhawk Women Move to 5-0 with Win over Carroll

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team remains unbeaten for the 2015-16 season Saturday night, defeating Carroll University 79-55 on the road in a non-conference contest.


 
The Warhawks (5-0) shot an impressive 59.3 percent from the field, which was just short of the best shooting percentage in program history which was 60 percent.


 
Seven players scored between seven and 15 points for the Warhawks. Junior Andrea Olsen (East Troy/East Troy) posted a team-best 15 points on 6-8 shooting from the floor in 18 minutes off the bench, while sophomore Brooke Trewyn (Whitewater/Whitewater) grabbed a team high eight rebounds while scoring eight points to go along with four assists.


 
Senior Abbie Reeves (Salem/Westosha Central) drained two 3-pointers en route to eight points. Sophomore Malia Smith (Bolingbrook, Ill./Neuqua Valley) and freshman Olivia Freckmann (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) both scored eight points.


 
Following a close first half, UW-Whitewater opened things up by shooting 62 percent from the field to open things up and control the second half.


 
UW-Whitewater will return home Wednesday, Dec. 2nd where they will take on Elmhurst College at 6 p.m. in Kachel Gymnasium.
