WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EARNS THE FIRST VICTORY IN 2014

Brooklyn, NY- The Women's Basketball team defeated the Pratt Institute Cannoneers 57-7 earlier tonight. The Cougars earned their first victory of the season (1-10 overall). Pratt fell to 0-4 overall.

The Cougars led wire to wire. They started the game on a 8-0 run and never looked back. Everything seemed to work for the Cougars tonight. They shot 35.4% from the field. 

In the win, Medgar Evers College was led by Sophomore Forward Kimonia Mullings with 24 points (12-24 FG-FGA). Kimonia grabbed a game and career high 21 rebounds (13 defensive). She swiped away a shot and gathered four steals. Junior Guard Nia Tompkins scored 11 points (5-18 FG-FGA, 1-9 3pt. FG-FGA, and 0-2 FT-FTA). Nia grabbed five rebounds, dished out an assist, swiped away two shots, and added a steal. Sophomore Forward Kiwelewa Mlimwengu scored 10 points (5-9 FG-FGA and 0-1 FT-FTA). Kiwelewa grabbed a career high 18 rebounds, dished out four assists and added a steal. Pratt was led by Carol Cai with 3 points.

The Cougars will rest up and study hard as they prepare for finals. They will also enjoy the holidays and be back in action on Saturday January 3rd, 2015. Baruch College will be their opponent and the game will tip-off at 1:00 pm.
