Knights top Women's Basketball in overtime

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team fell in 

overtime, 91-84, to Wartburg on Bo Ryan Court on Friday night.

The Pioneers' were led by Alyssa Krajco, who recorded her third straight double-double by registering 24 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. Stacy Clark added 20 points, while Rachel Cropp contributed 18 points.

The Knights' Bobbi Burrows led all scorers with 33 points and went 6-12 from beyond the arc. 

The Pioneers managed to lead by as many as 14 points, 35-21, with 4:37 left in the opening half. Wartburg went on to finish the final two minutes of the first half with a 10-1 run, cutting the Pioneers' lead to one-point, 42-41, at the half. 

Another scoring spurt by the Knights midway through the second half gave Wartburg its largest lead of the game, 66-56. The Pioneers answered with a 10-0 run to tie the game up at 66-66 with 7:17 to play. 

Wartburg called a timeout down three, 76-73, with 28 seconds left. Out of the timeout the Pioneers had some miscommunication, leaving Burrows wide open to tie the game with 19 seconds left in regulation. Cropp was then fouled with 3.9 left and made the first of the one-and-one giving the Pioneers a 77-76 lead. A foul was then called on the Pioneers on the inbounds with 2.3 seconds in the game, giving Wartburg the opportunity to win in regulation. The Knights' Morgan Neuendorf made the first free throw, but missed the second to go into overtime. 

The Pioneers jumped out to a quick four-point lead in extra-time, 81-77. The Knights responded with an 8-0 run, taking a 85-81 lead with three minutes left in overtime. The Pioneers were able to cut it to a one-possession game, but the Knights managed to escape with a 91-84 victory. 

UW-Platteville will look to bounce back quickly as the Pioneers host Alverno on Saturday at 3 p.m.
