Terriers Fall to Colby-Sawyer Despite Strong Night by McAllister

With the loss Thomas falls to 3-14 (3-8 NAC), while Colby-Sawyer extends their winning streak to a season-high three games and improves to 8-9 (7-3 NAC).

The Chargers took an early lead at 17:26 with a three-pointer by Jessica Shenkel and didn't look back, leading by as much as 19 points in the first half. Thomas was unable to get anything going from the floor, shooting a mere 11.1% (3-27) from the field in the opening stanza. Meanwhile, the visitors shot 46.2% (12-26) in route to a comfortable lead going into halftime.

The Terriers came out stronger in the second, outscoring Colby-Sawyer, 33-32. Despite a strong comeback bid, the slow first half put a damper on a Thomas victory.

The closing period saw the Red and Black improve from the floor, going 8-23 (34.8%), while McAllister made 14 of her points in the closing half.

Kelsey Bragdon led the Chargers with a double-double, scoring 12 points with 10 rebounds, while Shenkel contributed with nine.

Ashlee Crowell-Smith added eight for the hosts, while Kate Thibodeau put up seven points, all in the second half.

Overall, Colby-Sawyer held a 44-40 advantage in rebounds, while both teams recoded 22 turnovers on the night. The Chargers were able to score 26 points in the paint to the Thomas' 18.

The Terriers will return to their home hardwood tomorrow, hosting New England College at 1pm. Thomas was defeated by the Pilgrims in Henniker earlier this season, 62-41.
