Anderson, Huber, and Parsons All with 20 as R-MC Outscores Marymount

ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Taylor Huber (Ashland, Va./Patrick Henry) and sophomore Katie Anderson (Beaverdam, Va./Patrick Henry) both scored 25 and junior Sarah Parsons (Glen Allen, Va./J.R. Tucker added 22 as Randolph-Macon downed Marymount 92-73 Thursday at Crenshaw Gymnasium.

The Yellow Jackets (4-0) held a 72-66 lead over the Saints (1-2) with five minutes remaining before finishing the game on a 20-7 run.  Anderson scored eight during the run, including six of R-MC's final seven points.

Anderson finished with a double-double, pulling down 12 rebounds to go along with her 25 points. She was 13-15 from the free throw line. 

The game was tight throughout the first half. Huber hit a trey and a jumper in helping R-MC build an early 7-2 lead. Marymount used a 10-1 spurt to take a 12-8 advantage five minutes into the contest.  The Saints were up 24-17 before a 9-0 burst by the Yellow Jackets gave the home team a 26-24 edge. The score was knotted a 36-36 at halftime, the sixth tie of the contest.

Marymount used an 8-2 run at the start of the second half to take a six-point lead at 44-38. R-MC put together a 19-6 spurt to take a 57-50 lead with 12:40 remaining. The Yellow Jackets led 72-66 with five minutes to go before pulling away. 

Randolph-Macon begins ODAC play on Saturday, Nov. 23, with a 1 p.m. contest against Roanoke.
