DE PERE, Wis. - St. Norbert College shot 63.3 percent from the floor in the second half as the impetus behind a 79-43 win over Beloit College in a Midwest Conference game on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.
The Green Knights (9-2, 6-0) held a 34-24 halftime lead before outscoring the Buccaneers (3-8, 3-3) by a 45-19 margin in the second half. Beloit connected on just 6 of 30 shots (20.0 percent) from the floor in the final 20 minutes.
St. Norbert led 44-31 with 15:31 remaining. The Green Knights then went on a 25-5 run over the next 9 1/2 minutes to put the game away for a 69-36 lead with 5:54 to go. St. Norbert made 12 of 17 field-goal attempts during the run.
The Green Knights also had a big run to start the game, taking an 11-2 lead, but let the Buccaneers climb back into the game. Beloit went on a 14-2 run, taking a 16-13 lead on a Lauren McNanna 3-pointer with 8:30 left in the half. St. Norbert answered with a slow surge to eventually build its 10-point lead at intermission.
Heidi Van Sistine led St. Norbert with 15 points off the bench. Lana Tomashek chipped in 13 points, while Morgan Heim added 10 points. The Green Knights, who entered the game second in the NCAA Division III in field-goal percentage, connected on 32 of 60 (53.3 percent) shots from the floor. The Green Knights held a 40-31 rebounding advantage.
Beloit shot 25.5 percent (13-for-51) from the floor. Lana Wieseman led the Buccaneers with 19 points, while Jenna Larsen added seven points and 10 rebounds.
