DE PERE, Wis. - In its first game in 17 days, St. Norbert College continued its efficient offensive play this season in a 76-30 rout of Lawrence University in a Midwest Conference game on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.
The Green Knights (8-2, 5-0 MWC) shot 58.5 percent from the floor, including 68 percent in the second half. St. Norbert was 31-for-53 from the floor overall and 17-for-25 in the final 20 minutes, and is shooting 50.6 percent from the floor on the season.
St. Norbert went on a 10-0 run following a 2-2 tie to take a 12-2 lead on a Heidi Van Sistine basket with 14:24 left in the half. Lawrence (3-7, 1-4) trailed 29-17 with 2:24 left in the half, but the Green Knights scored seven of the half's last nine points to lead 36-18 at halftime.
The Green Knights took all the mystery out of the outcome to open the second half, going the first 10 minutes of the period on an impressive 25-0 run to take a 61-18 advantage following a Brianna Byrne basket with 9:59 remaining.
Byrne finished with 15 points and eight rebounds. Tasha Giese registered 14 points and 12 rebounds, and had a double-double at halftime with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Heidi Van Sistine came off the bench to add eight points.
Lawrence shot 22.5 percent (9-for-40) from the floor and was outrebounded 37-24. Kanae Nishitani led the Vikings with eight points.
