ALBION, MICH. – The underclasswoman guard duo of sophomore Katie Arterburn (Indianapolis, Ind.) and freshman Jenifer Lee (Rockville, Ind.) finished in double figures, leading Manchester University Saturday, Dec. 28.

Arterburn ended with 11 points, as she hit a pair of treys and was three-of-four effort from the charity stripe. Lee chipped in 10 points, converting two three-point buckets and going a perfect four-for-four at the free throw line.

MU(5-4), seeing a four-game win streak end with an 83-70 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opponent Olivet College, tried to battle back in the second 20 minutes by hitting better than 51 percent (17 of 33) from the field. However, the fast start of the Comets (8-2) in the opening frame, where they ran out to an 18-5 lead less than seven minutes in, proved to be too much.

Olivet also used a strong effort on the glass to propel them. The Comets out-boarded the Spartans 51-35 with junior center Alyssa Hammond (Osgood, Ind.) grabbing six for MU. Junior guard Jocelyn Hamilton (Columbus, Ind.) turned in team highs of three assists and three steals.

The Black and Gold wrap up the Albion Classic with a 4 p.m. start against the host Britons Sunday, Dec. 29. Albion opened the tourney with a 67-60 loss to fellow Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference member Defiance College of Ohio in Saturday's opening contest.

NOTES: Manchester University stands 2-2 against the MIAA this season with Sunday's game against Albion the last of five this regular season against their northern conference neighbors … Arterburn registered her fourth double-figure scoring game and fifth outing in which she's hit multiple three-point baskets … Hamilton reeled off her ninth straight multiple-assist contest and picked up multiple steals for the fifth time this year, while Hammond grabbed five-or-more rebounds for the seventh time in 2013-14.
