Bethel beats Macalester 70-53

Bethel staged a key 20-3 run midway through the second half to turn a one-point lead into a 70-53 MIAC over Macalester Satuday at the Leonard Center.  The Royals held the Scots to a 27% shooting figure on the day and improve to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC.  Macalester drops to 1-5 on the season, 0-3 in the MIAC.

Erin Murray (So., Sparta, Wis.) had a solid all-around game to lead the way for the Scots, finishing with 18 points, four assists and four steals.  Veronika Jakubovie (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) just missed out on a double-double with her eight-point, 13-rebound effort.    She also blocked three shots.  Park Masterson contributed 12 rebounds.

Rachel Parupsky had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead the Royals.  Kalli Zimmermann came off the bench to add 17 points and Sydney Schultz scored 13 points.

Bethel led 42-12 in points in the paint and led 24-17 in points off turnovers.  BU led 27-25 at halftime.
Macalester plays Monday (Dec. 9) at St. Thomas.
