Cobbers defeat Macalester

Visiting Concordia-Moorhead staged runs at the end of each half and came away with a 69-54 MIAC win over the Scots Thursday night in St. Paul.  The Cobbers held Macalester to a 32% shooting figure and overcame a 22-15 turnover deficit. 

 

The Scots played a solid overall game over Concordia and received a career-best 18 points and three steals from Erin Murray (So., Sparta, Wis.).  Taylor Pike (Sr., Ashland, Wis. / Ashland-Greeenland) chipped in with 12 points.  Veronika Jakubovie (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) contributed nine rebounds and four blocked shots.

 

Concordia was led by Erika Jossart with 16 points and Alley Fisher with 14.    The Cobbers enjoyed  a slight 40-37 rebounding advantage and led 28-14 in points in the paint.

 

Macalester returns to MIAC action when it hosts Bethel on Saturday (Dec. 7) at 1 p.m.
