KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo sophomore forward Allison McKenna scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Knights to a 70-51 victory at Keuka, Thursday night.

Sophomore guard Dana Cohan added 12 points and four assists, while junior forward Shannon McGinnis totaled 10 points and nine rebounds to for Geneseo, which improved to 3-0 to open the 2013-14 campaign.

Geneseo opened the game on a 10-0 run in the first four minutes of the game but Keuka responded with a 17-9 run to pull within two, 19-17, with 8:21 to play in the half. The Knights would see a five point lead, 30-25, disappear in the last 2:13 of the half as Keuka outscored the visitors 9-0 to lead 34-30 at intermission.

"Tonight was a good road win for us, especially coming off our trip to Portland last weekend," said head coach Scott Hemer. "I thought we came out a bit timid in the first half and Keuka did a nice job of taking advantage of that. We got our legs under us and moved the ball better as the game went on which was good to see.

"It was also good to see Allison come alive tonight and play with a little bit more fire and determination than in our first two games. I felt like there were a couple times tonight where she wasn't going to be denied."

The Knights would claw their way back with a 22-11 run to start the second half to take a lead, 52-43, with 10:48 to play. A Keuka free throw at 10:17 would be the Storm's only point over the next 7:08 as Geneseo scored 16 unanswered points to put the game out of reach en route to the 19-point victory.

Geneseo returns to action  on Tuesday, Dec. 2, hosting a first-round contest of the Wendy's College Classic Tournament. Opponent and tip-off time are still TBD.
