HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women's basketball team pulled out the 69-60 win over Landmark Conference rivals the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Saturday afternoon in the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center.  Juniata (13-4, 4-2 Landmark) has won seven of its last eight games and currently sits third in the league standings.

The Eagles were led by junior Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area).  She finished with her second-straight double-double performance after posting game highs of 15 points and 12 rebounds.  Sophomore Kelsey Livoti (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) just missed out on a double-double of her own.  She earned 12 points and grabbed nine boards.

Senior Natalie Glinsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) shot 50-percent from three-point range to pick up 11 points and round out the Eagles in double-digits.

After leading 35-28 heading into the break, Juniata found itself down by five halfway into the second half.  McDonald started a 9-2 run that was capped off with a three by Glinsky to take the lead 53-51 with 6:21 on the clock.  Merchant Marine took the lead back 54-53 on an and-1 play, but the Eagles responded with a 14-2 run to go up 67-56 with 1:10 remaining.

Juniata held on for their 11th straight win over the Mariners.  Merchant Marine (7-8, 1-6 Landmark) was led by Roshenda Josephs, who finished with 16 points.

The Eagles remain home this Wednesday, January 23 to take on Susquehanna University.  They are 27-47 all-time against the Crusaders since the programs began competing in the 1974-75 season.  The series is tied 9-9 under head coach Danny Young-Uhrich but the Eagles are 5-4 on their home court against Susquehanna.  Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
