CRESSON, PA-- The Medaille College women's basketball team traveled to Cresson, PA Saturday to battle Mount Aloysius in a AMCC battle and finished with a convincing (89-59) win.
The Lady Mavericks got off to a fast start as they outscored Mount Aloysius 44-23 after the first half. It helped that the Mavs held their opponent to 9 of 27 from the field, which was good for 33.3%. The Lady Mavs stepped up the pressure even more in the second half holding Mount Aloysius to 28.6% in the half.
In the second half, the Lady Mavericks outscored Mount Aloysius 45-36 to cruise to a victory.
Leading the Lady Mavs was Joelle Pollak who finished the day with a triple-double. Pollak totaled (17) points, (11) rebounds and (11) assists in the game. Alicia Montalvo chipped in (17) points herself along with (5) rebounds and Brittany Rowland chipped in (14) points as well.
The Lady Mavericks were also successful behind the arc tonight hitting on 11 of 23 shots, good for 47.8%. Kayla Golden was a perfect 3-3 behind the arc while Emily Brophy finished 4-6.
The Lady Mavs head home to start a two game home stand on Wednesday against Hilbert College at 6 p.m.
