ALTOONA, Pa. – Three of five starters scored in double figures for Frostburg State as it defeated Penn State Altoona 65-51 in non-conference action, Tuesday.

The victory is the second-straight for the Bobcats as they improve to 2-1. PSA falls to 0-3.

The 14-point win would have more difficult if the Bobcat defense didn't generate 21 turnovers with 15 steals. Frostburg limited the Lions to just 20 baskets, including nine in the opening half as the visitors jumped out to a 37-26 lead at the break.

The second half was closer as FSU held just a three-point edge, 28-25, but the game was already in hand.

Frostburg scored the game's first 10 points and never looked back. Sophomore Ronje' James hit a layup at 11:05 to give the Bobcats their largest lead of the first half, 26-8.

Penn State Altoona regrouped with a 14-2 run that cut the deficit to six, 28-22 at 5:37. However, FSU was able to extend its lead to 11 at the break.

The Bobcats opened second half action with the first six points for a 17-point cushion, 43-26. FSU pushed its lead to a game-high 19 points twice late in the half before winning by 14.

James paced the Bobcats on offense with 18 points, six rebounds and six steals. Senior Brynn Arnone finished with 14 points followed by junior Elaina Hummel with 10.

Altoona finished with four starters in double figures, led by 13 from Kylie O'Toole. However, the Lions received zero points from their three players off the bench.
