ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn (November 28, 2012) - Everybody played and everybody scored as UW-Stout ran out to surpass the century mark in a 106-51 win at Crown College, Wednesday.
The Blue Devils (4-2) completely dominated, well, just about everything. The put up a 2:1 margin in rebounds, pulling down 75 boards, five short of the team single game record. All but one Blue Devil had at least two boards. Freshman Maygan Mitchell (Etrick) came off the bench to grab eight rebounds and collected a collegiate-best 12 points.
Stout raced off to an 8-0 start just over one minute into the game. The Blue Devils doubled up the Storm (1-2) nine minutes into the game at 24-12 and had a 30 point, 52-22, lead with four minutes left in the first half. Stout's bench poured in 52 points, topping Crown's total.
Whitney Rawdon (Sr, Eau Claire) led Stout with 16 points. Katelynne Folkers (So, Fall Creek) added 13 points and Kayla Windt (Sr, Pence) tossed in 12 points.
The Storm's Judy Mundt led all scorers with 24 points. Michelle Hyde scored 20 points.
Stout shot 46.6 percent (41-88) for the game, while the Storm shot 23.4 percent (15-64).
The 106 points is only five points shy of the school record of 111 points set in a 111-69 win over St. Scholastica, Jan. 6, 2004, and the 55 point spread is seven points short of the school record 62 point margin set last year when Stout defeated Crown at Johnson Fieldhouse, 95-33.
The last time Stout broke the 100-point mark was in a 103-45 win, Dec. 11, 2007.
Stout will host UW-Whitewater, Saturday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m., and UW-Superior, Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m.
