GREENSBORO, N.C. --- Guilford College had five players in double-figure scoring in Guilford College's 71-56 women's basketball win over visiting Meredith College Monday in the Ragan-Brown Field House.
The Avenging Angels (1-2) led, 29-25, at halftime and led by as many as seven points early in the half. Logan Hardin scored nine of her 11 points off the bench in the second half to help the Quakers (4-1) to a 17-4 run once play resumed, and Guilford did not lose the lead again.
Brittany Atwater and Morgan King had 14 points apiece in the victory. Atwater netted 12 of her points in the second half. Brittany Drew and Gabby Oglesby both contributed 10. Oglesby also added team-high eight rebounds, three assists, four blocks and one steal. Kayla Adams tallied five assists and four steals to accompany her six points off the bench.
Keyanka Bailey paced Meredith with 15 points and seven rebounds. Tyler Gresham and Kristen Alford both added 12. Danielle Lee grabbed game-high 11 rebounds. Laquetta Hairston contributed game-high seven assists.
The Quakers open Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play against Eastern Mennonite University at 5:30 p.m. in the Ragan-Brown Field House. The Royals were second only to Guilford in the conference's preseason poll.
