ALLIANCE, Ohio -- No. 10 ranked Mount Union set a school record by winning its 15th straight game with a 65-41 win over Wilmington in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.

The win also was the Purple Raiders 21st straight home court win, pushed their record to 20-1 overall and kept them in first place in the OAC at 13-1.

Mount Union's previous consecutive win record of 14 games happened twice during the 1997-98 season when the Raiders finished 29-3 and third in the nation.  Current head coach Suzy Venet was the leading scorer and point guard on that team.

The current Mount Union point guard led the way today as junior Rosa LaMattina(Westlake/Westlake) had a game-high 13 points with six assists and five steals.

Senior forward Amanda Rose (Green/Green) tallied 12 points as 12 different Raiders cracked the scoring column.

Mount Union, which leads the OAC in scoring defense, surrendered just 41 points to Wilmington (11-10, 6-8 OAC) as Brianna Peters had seven points and eight rebounds.

The Quakers held a 6-5 lead in the game's opening minutes before Mount Union scored 10 of the next 12 points to take control and went on to lead 41-20 at the half and never looked back.

Mount Union now goes on the road for three-straight games starting next Wedneday (Feb. 8) at Marietta.
