ROSEMONT, Pa. - In a sloppily-played game the Rosemont Ravens women's basketball team suffered a 21-3 run put together by the visiting Gwynedd-Mercy College Griffins, turning a Ravens two point lead into a 16-point halftime deficit from which Rosemont would not be able to recover. The decisive run by the Griffins came in the final 4:12 of the first half.
The Griffins defeated the Ravens by a final score of 83-69 to improve their record to 7-6 (3-1 CSAC). Rosemont dropped to 5-6 (1-4 CSAC) with the defeat.
The first half featured seven lead changes and five tie scores, but there would be no such events in the second half. The closest that Rosemont could get to Gwynedd-Mercy in the second stanza was six points, 52-46 with 12:11 left in the game.
The two teams combined for 55 turnovers, with the Ravens accounting for 33 of the gifts. The teams also committed a combined 38 fouls with three different players fouling out of the contest.
