MEQUON,Wis. -- UW-River Falls scored the game-winner on a 10-foot jumper off an inbounds play under their own basket that began with 0.7 seconds on the clock to hand Concordia University Wisconsin a bitter 61-60 non-conference home defeat Tuesday evening in the R. John Buuck Field House.

The Falcons (0-2) appeared to have the game won after rallying from an early 11-point deficit, 22-11, to take a nine-point lead, 57-48, with four minutes remaining in the contest. CUW led by seven with two minutes remaining but a long 3-pointer cut the deficit to four with 1:52 remaining in the game.

CUW misfired twice on their next possession and a Tiffany Gregorich layup made it 59-57 in favor of UW-RF.  The Falcons Brittany Zietlow (junior, Oak Creek, Wis.) hit 1-of-2 free throws with 47 seconds left in the game before another Gregorich layup put the visiting Falcons within one, 60-59.

Head coach Stacey Brunner-Jones' team missed with 11 seconds on the clock and UW-RF came up short on a layup attempt with two seconds left before it retained possession on a jump ball with 0.7 seconds left in the contest. After a timeout, Alise Holst split the CUW defense to score the game's final field goal as the horn sounded.
