Madie Harlem '13 scored a game-high 20 points to lead Hamilton College to a 62-35 win over Morrisville State College in a non-conference game at Morrisville's STUAC Gymnasium on Dec. 10.
It is the fourth time this year Harlem has scored 20 or more points. Harlem also pulled down six rebounds to go along with three assists and a game-high four steals.
Olivia Pimm '14 added a season-high 12 points and six rebounds, and Dani Feigin '14 chipped in nine points. Kim Goidell '13 scored eight points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Claire Hunsinger '13 led the team with nine rebounds.
Dyshea Smiley led the Mustangs with nine points, and Tierra Hollins-Hill chipped in eight to go with three assists. Jennel Paul added six points and three steals. Nijah Townsend pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, and Nijee Scott grabbed seven boards.
Hamilton (4-4 overall) scored the game's first six points before Morrisville scored the next seven. After Paul hit a pair of free throws to give the Mustangs a 7-6 lead, there were five ties and six lead changes over the next 13 minutes, 1 second.
Smiley made a layup to give Morrisville a 25-22 lead with 2:04 left in the half. But Hamilton responded with a 16-0 run spanning halftime to take a 38-25 lead. Pimm scored six points during the spurt. The Continentals held a 28-25 advantage at the break.
Paul hit a jumper with 12:26 left in the game to pull the Mustangs within 38-27, but Hamilton responded with another run, this time scoring nine straight points to make 47-27 with 9:44 remaining. The Continentals led by double digits the rest of the way, and their largest lead was the final 27-point margin.
Hamilton held a 44-35 advantage in rebounds, and held Morrisville to just 23.5 percent shooting from the floor. The Continentals lead the all-time series 4-0.
Hamilton is off until Dec. 28, when it travels to Daytona Beach, Fla., to take on Clark University in the Land of Magic Classic at noon.
