GALESBURG, Ill. - St. Norbert College closed the last seven minutes of the game on a 23-8 run en route to a wild 90-75 win over Knox College in a Midwest Conference game at Memorial Gym.

St. Norbert (6-2, 4-0 MWC) improved to 28-0 all-time against Knox (1-6, 1-3) with the win.

Becky Duffy's free throw for Knox with 6 minutes 59 seconds remaining tied the game at 67-67, the 12th deadlock of the game. Krista Pelky's two free throws five seconds later was the start of an 8-0 run for St. Norbert, finished off by a basket by Krista Hawkinson, two free throws by Tasha Giese and a hoop by Lana Tomashek for a 75-67 lead with 5:51 remaining.

That spurt was the trail end of a bigger 18-1 run for the Green Knights. Knox led 66-57 with 9:47 left before St. Norbert charged back. Jamie Kuhl's basket got it started, and was followed by two baskets by Tomashek and a score by Hawkinson. Giese's basket with 7:07 left gave St. Norbert a brief 67-66 lead.

St. Norbert ended up shooting 46.5 percent (33-for-71) from the floor and was also 24-for-31 (77.4 percent) at the free-throw line. The Green Knights did not attempt a 3-pointer against Knox, which now runs Grinnell's famed full-court-pressing system. Giese finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds before fouling out in 23 minutes. Kuhl added 23 points and 10 rebounds. Krista Pelky had 17 points and seven assists, and was 9-for-9 at the free-throw line.

Duffy had 15 points, while Sara Johnson added 11 points for the Prairie Fire, which was outrebounded 60-39.
