The Millikin women's basketball team opened the game with a 10-0 run and never trailed as the Big Blue defeated North Park University 68-48 on Jan. 29 in the Griswold Center.
Millikin had a first half advantage as large as 18 before going to the locker room at halftime up 37-24. Millikin continued its domination in the second half never letting the Vikings any closer that 11 points.
Millikin shot 43 percent from the field including 58 percent in the first half. The Big Blue held the Vikings to 32 percent shooting on the game. Millikin won the battle on the boards 35-27.
Millikin's top scorers were Elise Wildman Crystal Zeigler each with 17 points. Zeigler had a team high eight rebounds. Julia Robert was also in double figures in scoring with 10 points.
North Park's top scorer was Dana Christensen with 13 points. The Big Blue limited the Vikings top scorer Roxxanne Jones to two points. Jones had been leading the CCIW in scoring in conference play.
Millikin is now 14-5 and 6-2 in the CCIW action.
Millikin will host Elmhurst on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
