JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College shot 32.7 percent from
the floor and ended up losing 59-52 to Illinois College in a
Midwest Conference game at Sherman Gym.
The Green Knights, who had won nine straight entering the game,
fell to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the MWC. Illinois College improved
to 7-5, 5-2.
St. Norbert would led 50-48 on a pair of Stefanie Bunday free
throws with 5 minutes, 22 seconds remaining, but Illinois College
would score the game's next 10 points to take a 58-50 lead with
1:15 to go.
St. Norbert made just 17 of 52 shots from the floor, including 8
of 24 (33.3 percent) in the second half. Rachel Hermus led St.
Norbert with 12 points, while Erin Baganz added 11.
Illinois College shot 45.7 percent (21-for-46) from the floor to
offset 22 turnovers. Carrie Walberg led the Lady Blues with 17
points, while Sarah Puckett and Rachel Macon each had 14.
