The Dominican University women's basketball team shot a season-best .534 from the field en route to an 81-68 win over the Benedictine University Eagles on Tuesday night to move to 12-3 on the season and 7-1 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC).  Becky Christofferson (Summit, S.D.) and Magdalena Kaminska (Orland Park, Ill.) led the charge with 25 and 22 points respectively.  For the second time this season, Christofferson tied the program record for three's in a game, going 7-for-11 from behind the three-point stripe, while Kaminska was 9-for-11 from the field.

Leading 20-18 with 7:12 remaining in the first half, the Stars embarked on a 21-7 run featuring 14 points from Christofferson and six points from Kaminska to close out the first half with a 41-25 lead.

Karyn Connerty and the Eagles cut into the Stars' lead early in the second half as a Connerty three shaved the lead to 46-32 with 17:40 to play, but the Stars answered with back-to-back three's from freshman Ashley Oliver (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and Christofferson followed by a lay in by Sarah Budz (Orland Park, Ill.) that put Dominican ahead by 22 and the Stars never looked back.

The Stars were 31-for-58 from the field, going 12-for-25 from three-point range, while holding the Eagles to just .368 shooting from the field (25-for-68).

Kaminska narrowly missed her fourth double-double of the season, hauling in a game-high nine rebounds in just 19 minutes of the Dominican bench.  Oliver added ten points in the winning effort while Budz had seven points, ten assists and six rebounds.

Forward Jen Brenn paced the Eagles with 17 points, converting on seven of her nine attempts from the free throw line.

Dominican will now enjoy a week between games, returning to the court next Wednesday, January 19, against the Aurora University Spartans.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Stars' Igini Sports Forum.
