Yellowjackets Take Down Crown

After an impressive victory at home over St. Scholastica to open the season last Monday, the Yellowjacket women's basketball team took to the road to take part in the Crown College Tip-Off Classic.  The Yellowjackets mowed down the competition, winning a pair of games by an average 33 points, improving to 3-0 on the young season.

For the year, the Yellowjackets are averaging 85.33 points scored and a miniscule 55.33 points allowed.

On Friday, the Yellowjackets took on the hosts, the Crown College Storm, in a game that was essentially over by halftime.  The Yellowjackets scored 23 of the first 25 points in the game, shooting 50% from the field in building a 47-22 lead at the midpoint.  Hailey Hart (Osseo, Wis.) scored 13 of her team leading 21 points in the first half.  Kelsey Thingvold (Crystal, Minn.) added 14 points and Bri Davis (Herman town, Minn.) had 11.  Paige Mikkelson (St. Francis, Minn.) led the Yellowjackets with 12 rebounds and Jesa Hall (Glenwood City, Wis.) had four assists. 

Misa Matetich and Judy Jundt led Crown with 17 and 16 points respectively.
