HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Jack Fricka (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) led the Blazers with a double-double and shot perfect from the field in a hot second half to soar past Juniata 94-58 to win the consolation game of Doc Greene Holiday Tournament on Monday night.

Inside the Box Score

Jack Fricka (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) along with his career high 19 points also grabbed 10 boards with three assists.

Jevon Yarbrough (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) scored 16 while shooting 7-for-10 from the field.

How it Happened

The guys did not change the tempo from last game as they scored the first 10 points included an expanded scoring package by Jude Huseby (Frederick, Md./Urbana) and big block on Juniata's Lapetina.

Fricka's high octane engine with scrappy in the paint became evident and became too much for Eagles' defenders. He started to beat them to the ball on the defensive and pinball down the lane in transition and get the bucket to go.

The first 10 minutes of play was a 30-9 run in favor of the Blazers before Juniata put some possessions together to stay in reach of Hood with a score of 40-31 at half.

The Blazers came out hot in the second half scoring their first three buckets in the fast break before a steal by Garrett Cox (Glen Allen, VA/Glen Allen) turned into a Jude Huseby (Frederick, Md./Urbana) finish at the basket to open up the flood gates.

With the efficiency in shooting dropping for the Eagles and the lack of second chances due to the Blazer dominance in the paint, Hood kept control of the score throughout the night.

"Great way to bounce back after a really tough loss last night," said head coach Chad Dickman. "We executed well offensively, and our physicality helped us control the glass. This was a nice way to end 2024 and hopefully build a little momentum heading into conference play."

Analysis

Hood outscored Juniata 54-16 in points in the paint.

Hood also had the edge in the fast break points at 19-7.

The Blazers shot a 58 percent clip in the second half while Juniata dropped a sluggish 23 percent.

For the Opponent

Ayden Hurley scored 15 points off the bench to lead the Eagles.
