Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan Men's Basketball team fell to Virginia Wesleyan, 88-74, on Saturday in a hard-fought contest. The Bishops were led by forward Markquan Gilbert, who delivered an outstanding performance for NCWU with 21 points and seven rebounds. Gilbert was highly efficient for the Bishops, shooting 8-11 from the field and a perfect 5-5 from the free-throw line.

Khalid Chavid-Hinds also contributed in a big way for Wesleyan, finishing with fourteen points. Chavid-Hinds made five field goals and was 4-5 from the charity stripe. As a team, the Bishops had one of its best offensive showings of the season, shooting 51.9% from the floor and connecting on 15 of 20 free throws.
Dominating inside, Wesleyan scored 40 of its 74 points in the paint while holding Virginia Wesleyan to just 26.7% from beyond the arc.
