Men's Basketball Knocks Off Mid-Atlantic Christian 84-75 in Special Win Honoring Championship Teams

Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team earned an impressive 84-75 victory over Mid-Atlantic Christian on a special day commemorating the 15th and 25th anniversary of the program's conference regular season conference championship teams from 1999-2000 and 2009-10. These teams laid the foundation for the program's continued excellence, and the Bishops honored their legacy with a dominant performance on the court.

Guard Marquis Eskew led the way for Wesleyan, finishing with nineteen points and three rebounds while shooting 8-15 from the floor, including 50% from three-point range. Fellow guard Omari Bolden had his best game of the season, contributing seventeen points and four rebounds to the Bishop victory. Bolden was efficient from start to finish, hitting six of nine shots and sinking two three-pointers.

Khalid Chavis-Hinds also was in double figures with eleven points, going a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. Forward Markquan Gilbert had his best shooting performance of the season, scoring fourteen points on 6-7 shooting. Kaleb Brooks was also impactful inside, finishing with twelve points, including a perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line.

Wesleyan controlled the game by dominating the boards, outrebounding MACU 37-29, and showcased igreat post presence with 42 points in the paint. The Bishops also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 24 points off of sixteen Mustang miscues. As a team, Wesleyan shot an impressive 49.2% from the field and held MACU to just 1-7 from beyond the arc.
