The Short Story: Junior Conner Delaney poured in 28 points, on 11-of-12 shooting, to lead the 22nd-ranked Johns Hopkins men's basketball team to a 92-62 win over Moravian Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened

• Hopkins jumped out to an 8-0 lead, fueled by three-pointers from sophomore Tom Quarry and junior Joey Kern, in the game's opening two minutes prompting a Moravian timeout. The Greyhounds got on the board with an Addis Ralph bucket in the paint to spark a 7-2 run as they trimmed the deficit to three with 16:18 to play in the half.

• The teams swapped scores over the ensuing four minutes and the Blue Jays led 15-13. Delaney and Kern hit back-to-back triples just 18 seconds apart and just like that the lead was eight. A Nicholas King three-point play pulled the Greyhounds back within five at the 10:28-mark.

• Hopkins answered with a quick 8-0 run to push its lead to 13 just over two minutes later. Moravian came right back with a 9-4 run of its own to slice the deficit back to single digits as Hopkins led 33-25 with 3:42 to go. Back-to-back layups by Delaney and sophomore Alex Schachne pushed the lead back to 12 and ignited a 15-3 run that saw the Blue Jays take a 48-28 lead with time winding down in the half. Mike Martino then drained a 60-footer at the buzzer to make it a 17-point game at the break.

• The Blue Jays opened the second half with a 12-0 run and the lead ballooned to 29. Hopkins never looked back as the lead never dipped below 22 and grew to as much as 35 with 3:07 remaining.

What it Means

• Hopkins improves to 8-2 all-time against Moravian and wins its fifth straight in the series. This is the largest win, for either team, in series history.

• This is the Blue Jays' second 6-0 start in three years under head coach Josh Loeffler.
