No. 22 BW Men's Basketball Selected Fifth in OAC Preseason Coaches Poll

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The defending Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Champion and No. 22 preseason nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team was selected to finish fifth in the Preseason Coaches Poll.

BW received 52 points to earn its fifth spot. The University of Mount Union placed first with 79 points and seven first place votes. No. 18 preseason nationally-ranked Marietta College was slated second with 67 points and one first place vote. At third is John Carroll University with 64 points and one two first place votes. Wilmington College landed at four with 56 points.

Under fifth-year Head Coach Tom Heil the Yellow Jackets return 10 lettermen and three starters from 2018-19 that finished the campaign with an overall record of 21-9 and an OAC mark of 11-7.

"The OAC is really competitive. Every game is a challenge. We are working hard to improve every day to make sure we are ready to embrace the challenge of competing in on the of the best conferences in the country" Heil stated. 

BW opens the season at home against Bethany (W. Va.) College on Tuesday November 12 at 7 p.m in Ursprung Gymnasium. The Yellow Jackets will open OAC play at home against Marietta on Tuesday November 26 at 7 p.m.
