NCAA: Baruch Falls to #12 Wooster

The Baruch College Bearcats lost 81-57 to the Scots from The College of Wooster on Friday night in an NCAA first round game in Wooster, Ohio.

The host Scots started the contest by jumping to a 24-8 lead after the first 10 minutes.

They built up a 44-28 advantage into halftime by shooting 55 percent (19-for-35) from field.

The visiting Bearcats were unable to recover from the early deficit, but they did make a run at 14:26 of the second half to get as close as 12 (51-39) on a three by William Sixsmith via a Joseph Zecchino Jr. assist.

The Scots shot 5-of-10 from three in the second half and ran the lead back up en route to advancing to tomorrow night's second round game, where they will host Wheaton (Illinois).

William Sixsmith led the way this evening with 15 points, while Andre Harris had 12 points, six rebounds and three blocks.

Reece Dupler led five players in double-figures for the Scots with 19 points (8-13fg).

The Bearcats finish their season with a 22-6 record. They have played in the postseason for the tenth time in the past 11 years.
