Stout closes busy week with exhibition game at DII Michigan Tech

HOUGHTON, Mich (December 15, 2018) – UW-Stout completed their weeklong tour of playing an NCAA Division I, II and III school by competing at DII Michigan Tech, with the Huskies taking an 81-39 exhibition game decision Saturday.
 
The Huskies jumped out to a 10-0 lead after the first three minutes, but Stout pulled to within two points, 12-10, three minutes later, as Jon Ciriacks and Garret Parks hit a pair of buckets, followed by a pair of 3-pointers by Brandon Gilbertson and Braden Walbeck.
 
That would be the closest Stout would get throughout the evening as Tech led 38-17 at halftime.
 
Stout was able to play every player on the bench and 13 players scored for Stout. Kaden Koski led Stout with eight points. Ciriacks and Gilbertson each finished with five points. Koski had five rebounds as did Parks.
 
The Huskies got 25 points from Dawson Bilski and 10 points from Bryan Heath. Jake Witt pulled down 13 rebounds to lead all players as Michigan Tech outboarded Stout, 46-30.
 
Stout returns to action Friday, Dec. 21 when they host Northland College at 7 p.m. The Blue Devils will host NAIA opponent Cardinal Stritch University, Saturday, Dec. 29 at 3 p.m. before opening the WIAC schedule Wednesday, Jan. 2 at UW-La Crosse.
