Baruch Wins for the Sixth Time in Seven Games, Defeat New Paltz

Bryler Paige scored a season-high 20 points and Andre Harris recorded his third straight double-double to lead the Baruch College Bearcats to a 76-60 home win over the Hawks of SUNY New Paltz on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats controlled the boards with a 47-33 margin and limited the Hawks to 37 percent shooting.

The visiting Hawks got as close as 51-45 with just under 10 minutes left, but the Bearcats responded by scoring eight of the next nine points to maintain a double-digit lead in the final eight minutes for the home win.

Paige scored 12 of his game-high 20 points in the first half. Harris, who earned double honors this week as CUNYAC Player of the Week and Co-Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers, finished the win with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Benjamin Boateng narrowly missed a double-double with 12 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks. Jack Sixsmith was pivotal running the offense with 11 points, five assists and four key steals on the defensive end.

Tristan Wisseman was tops for the opponent from the SUNY Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) with 16 points.

The Bearcats will now go on Final Exam/Holiday Break and resume action on Friday, December 28 with a road contest at Westfield State in Massachusetts.
