Baruch Celebrates New Year By Defeating Kean, 11 Players Score in Win

Eleven different players scored as the Baruch College Bearcats routed the Cougars of Kean University, 69-48, in a New Year's Eve contest on Saturday afternoon in the ARC Arena.

The visiting Cougars started strong by jumping out to a 9-2 lead, but the Bearcats recovered by scoring the next 11 points for a 13-9 advantage. They would never trail the rest of the game.

The Bearcats twice built up the lead in the second half to 26 points en route to improving their record to 9-2.


Doyin Isaac, who was a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range, led all scorers with 17 points, while Chimaechi Ekekeugbor recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

The visiting Cougars from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) shot only 32 percent (19-for-60). Micah Kerr came off the bench to score 12 points to lead their team in scoring.

The Bearcats will resume their CUNYAC schedule on Wednesday, January 4, with a 7:30 pm contest at the College of Staten Island.
