Gettysburg, Pa. (Nov. 19, 2016) - Delaware Valley University (3-0) hit 6-of-7 shots from the floor in overtime in a 75-70 win over Alvernia University (2-1) Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the Gettysburg College Men's Basketball Tip-Off Tournament at Bream Gymnasium.

The Crusaders scored 10 of the last 12 points of regulation to erase a 58-50 deficit just to force overtime, and senior Marquis Marshall scored the Crusaders first six points of overtime helping them to a 66-65 lead halfway through the overtime period.

The Aggies answered that with a layup from Tyrea Williams to take back the lead then tournament MVP Tyliek Kimbrough hit a 3 to put the Aggies up four points with 1:17 left in the overtime period.  Alvernia twice cut the deficit back to two points but got no closer the rest of the way.

Kimbrough scored 26 points to lead the Aggies.  Marshall finished with a game-high 33 points--one shy of his career high--and George Williams added 19.

Mike Miller, Jr. hit a jumper on the Crusaders last possession of the first half for a 31-29 lead, but Reid Hoff was whistled for a foul on Kimbrough attempting a 3 at the first half horn and the DVU senior hit all three free throws to give the Aggies a 32-31 lead at halftime.

There were three ties in the first 10 minutes of the second half before DVU scored seven straight points to set the 58-50 score with 4:47 to play.  Manny Brown, who scored 23 points off the bench for the Aggies, scored the final six points of the run for Del Val.

Marshall and Miller were both named to the All-Tournament Team for the Crusaders.

Alvernia returns home to face Penn State-Berks on Tuesday.
