Berry College falls at Centre

DANVILLE, Ky. -- Zack Chaykowsky scored a game-high 19 points, but the Berry College men's basketball team lost at Centre College, 92-66, on Friday night.

Centre improved to 13-4 and 4-3 in the Southern Athletic Association. BC dropped to 5-12 and 1-6 in the SAA.

Chaykowsky was 6-11 from the field and made three from behind the arc. Owen Jacobs added 13 points for the Vikings in the defeat. Jacobs was 6-of-10 shooting.

Berry and Centre played it close the first 14 minutes as there were six lead changes. Lukas Korn made two free throws to give the Vikings its last lead at 23-21 with 7:18 remaining in the opening half.

The Colonels went on a 22-6 run over the last 6:37 of the first half and led 48-31 at the break.

For the game, Centre shot 61-percent (36-59) to Berry's 36-percent (20-55). The Colonels won the battle of the boards, 37-26.

Blake Scinta had 16 points and led four players who scored in double-digits for Centre.

Berry plays at Sewanee on Sunday at 4 p.m. EST.
