Men's Basketball Loses at College of Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— The John Jay men's basketball team closed out its 2012-13 regular season with a  conference loss on the road as the Bloodhounds lost at the College of Staten Island 94-74 on Sunday afternoon.
 
The regular season ends for John Jay with a 13-12 (9-7 CUNYAC) record, while CSI is now 18-5 (13-2 CUNAYC) with one regular season remaining.
 
The Bloodhounds finished in third place in the conference standings and will play a home game next Sunday in the CUNYAC quarterfinals against the No. 6 seed, which could be either York College, CCNY, Medgar Evers or Hunter College, who all have one game remaining on their respective schedules.
 
In Sunday's game, John Jay was led by Isaiah Holman with 23 points, while Michael Howard had 12 off the bench.
 
CSI was led by Javon Cox with 30 points, 11 rebounds and four steals, while Bloochy Magloire had 26 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The host Dolphins held a 48-22 advantage on points in the paint. CSI shot 52.9 percent (36-for-68) in the contest, including 58.33 percent (21-for-36) in the first half.
