Tommies rebound, race past St. Mary's

Senior John Nance scored 15 points and the top-ranked Tommies (17-1 overall, 12-1 MIAC) ran their home win streak to 14 as they shot 53% from the floor and had a 42-24 rebounding advantage in Wednesday night's MIAC men's basketball victory over St. Mary's (3-15, 2-11) at Schoenecker Arena.

St. Thomas maintained its two-game conference lead on second-place Augsburg and extended the lead to four on third-place Concordia-Moorhead.

The Toms, who are 8-1 over the last 15 days, had only 10 turnovers. Senior Tommy Hannon surpassed 500 career rebounds as he collected 12 points and seven boards. Will DeBerg scored 13 and Zach Riedeman added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Will Swiggum had 15 points and Evan Pederson scored 10 for St. Mary's.

UST used a pair of 11-0 runs to build a 45-23 halftime lead.
