No. 5 Tommies start fast, stay unbeaten

The No. 5-ranked St. Thomas Tommies (6-0 overall, 4-0 MIAC) raced to a 22-0 lead en route to Monday night's 93-64 home men's basketball win over the Concordia College Cobbers (3-4, 1-2) at Schoenecker Arena.

St. Thomas got 49 of its 93 points from bench players and shot 58 percent from the field. The Tommies had a 38-25 rebounding advantage.

St. Thomas senior John Nance led with 15 points and five steals, while soph center Conner Nord had 14 points and five boards.

UST closed the first half on a 17-4 run to send the halftime lead to 52-28.

Dewon McKenzie had 16 points for Concordia.

The Tomies play at St. Mary's on Wednesday night.
