Rochester Downs Cobleskill in First Round of Holiday Inn Airport Invite

The University of Rochester opened the game on a 20-0 run in the first 4:17 and went on to a 101-48 victory over Cobleskill State in the first round of the UR/Holiday Inn Airport Invitational at the Louis Alexander Palestra. 

Rochester will play 22nd-ranked Ohio Wesleyan in the championship game at 3pm on Sunday. Ohio Wesleyan defeated Otterbein, 66-59, in the first game. Cobleskill will play Otterbein for third place at 1 pm.

Kent Coyne scored 16 points in 17 minutes to lead Rochester (4-0). He hit six of seven from the floor, four of five outside the arc. Rob Reid had 13 points and eight rebounds in 13 miunutes. Tyler Seidman scored 10 points and handed out four assists.

Rochester shot 52% from the floor (36 of 69) and 47% beyond the arc (14 of 30). Seven players hit three-point shots. Dan Shapiro made three, Seidman and Nate Vernon hit two each.

Alexis Nunez led Cobleskill (1-3) with 10 points, hitting five of 11 from the field. Glen Robinson scored seven points in three minutes off the bench, and Brandon Tuttle had six points in 17 minutes. The Fighting Tigers shot 33% for the game (19 of 58).
