Georgetown, Texas - Trinity's men's basketball team secured its fourth straight victory with a 60-54 decision over Southwestern University on Saturday evening.

Trinity (13-8, 8-4 SCAC) remained tied atop the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference West Division standings with the win, keeping pace with Austin College.

The Tigers held a narrow 28-26 halftime lead, despite a 45.5% shooting performance in the first 20 minutes.  Southwestern shot just 35.5% in the half, but took more shots in the period to keep pace.  Trinity's short-lived six-point lead was the largest margin in the opening frame.

After the Pirates tied the game 30-30 in the opening minutes of the second half, the Tigers scored eight unanswered points to take the lead for good.  Trinity's biggest lead was just 11 points, though that was quickly erased with a 6-0 run by Southwestern, making it 50-46 with just a minute remaining.

The Tigers hit all eight of their free throw attempts in the final minute to seal the win, despite a pair of late three-point buckets by the Pirates.

Zach Lambert led Trinity with 20 points in the game - 13 of which came in the second half of play.  Lambert also led the Tigers with 10 rebounds to give him his first double-double this season.

Heath Hopson nailed 10-10 from the foul line on his way to 14 points off the bench, while Matt Selling scored a career-high 11 points for Trinity.  Selling hit 4-6 from the field overall, and 3-4 from three-point range to lead the team.

Logan Hurley led Southwestern with 16 points, while Demetrice Spearman came off the bench with 14 points on 5-10 shooting.

Trinity will play its final home games of the regular season next weekend, hosting Hendrix College and Colorado College.
