MADISON, N.J. (January 27, 2012) – Juniata (14-5, 6-2 Landmark) completed the season sweep of the Drew (4-15, 2-6 Landmark) with a 74-66 victory in Baldwin Gym this evening. Senior Asmar Capers (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) netted a season 33 points including a career-high seven 3-pointers in a losing effort.

The balanced Eagle attack saw four of the five starters in double figures. Juniata was led by forward Brian Scholly who hit five 3-pointers en route to a team-high 19 points. Alex Raymond and Kevin Stapleton pulled down five rebounds and added 14 points and 13 points respectively.

Capers was the only Ranger in double figures as junior Terrell Brown (Camden, N.J./Woodrow Wilson) had nine points and sophomore John Ford (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to go along with eight points.
The Eagles were extremely efficient, shooting nearly 48 percent from the field and over 40 percent from beyond the arc. The Rangers on the other hand were 19-of-49 from the floor, good for 38 percent and struggled from the free throw line going 17-for-27.

The hometown Rangers held only one lead in the contest in the opening minutes before the Eagles scored nine-straight points and did not look back. Drew was able to knot the game midway through the first half but a 7-0 run with 5:16 to play sparked a 39-29 lead at halftime.

Drew was matched nearly bucket for bucket in the second half of play and would not get closer than six points the entire frame. The Eagles capitalized off 14 Ranger turnovers, converting them in 20 points.

The Rangers will look to end a two-game slide tomorrow afternoon when they welcome in Susquehanna for a 4:00 p.m. contest in Baldwin Gym.
