DE PERE, Wis. - St. Norbert College was swept by Beloit College for the first time since the 1992-93 season in a 57-52 Midwest Conference loss at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (16-5, 12-4 MWC) could have clinched at least a share of the MWC title with a win, but are now just one game ahead of Illinois College with two games to play. Beloit kept its MWC Tournament hopes alive at 8-12, 8-7.

St. Norbert struggled offensively the entire game, shooting just 34.5 percent (19-for-55) from the floor. The Green Knights also made just one three-point field goal in nine attempts and had only three assists in 19 made baskets.

Beloit led 50-40 with 8 minutes 18 seconds left after Joe Poshepny canned a 3-pointer. The Green Knights would then hold Beloit scoreless for the next seven minutes to climb game, going on an 8-0 run to trail 50-48 with 2:28 left. David Wipperfurth's jumper inside 2 minutes to tie it was short, and David Bremner's layup as the shot clock expired with 1:18 to go gave Beloit a 52-48 lead. Steve Papke's hoop with 1:01 left brought St. Norbert to within 52-50, but Michael Horton's 3-pointer from 26 feet out with 31 seconds left was the knockout blow.

Papke and Chris Peterson led St. Norbert with 14 points apiece, while Wipperfurth added 13 points.

Bremner led Beloit with 15 points, while Horton and Travis Towns each scored 12 points. Beloit shot 47.9 percent from the floor, making 23 of 48 shots.
