DE PERE, Wis. - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten by grinding its way past Monmouth College 66-52 in a Midwest Conference game on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights, ranked No. 8 in the D3hoops.com Top 25, remained unbeaten at 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the MWC. Monmouth fell to 1-4, 0-2.

St. Norbert led 29-9 with 7 minutes 21 seconds left in the first half after a Garrett Thorn layup. The Green Knights led by as many as 22 points at 33-11 but settled on a 36-16 halftime lead.

Monmouth scored five points on its first two possessions of the second half to give it some life, and the Green Knights went cold from the floor. The Scots cut the deficit down to 14 at 42-28 with 12:28 left, but St. Norbert went on a 7-0 run to to take a 49-28 lead with 10:14 left on Andy Fox's jumper in the paint. Monmouth wouldn't get closer than 12, that coming with 1:54 to go.

David Wipperfurth led St. Norbert in scoring with 15 points, while John Taylor added 14. The Green Knights, who had just nine turnovers, shot 25-for-56 (44.6 percent) from the floor.

Cory Bishop had 12 points for the Scots, who shot 40.9 percent (18-for-44) from the floor but canned 13 of 24 (54.2 percent) in the second half. Kendall Cox added 11 points and Bryce Donaldson 10.
