The Millikin men's basketball picked up its first victory of the season with a 66-50 win over Robert Morris-Springfield. Millikin is now 1-3 while Robert Morris falls to 6-3.
Millikin led for the entire game with a 37-16 advantage at halftime. Millikin's largest lead of the game was with 17:00 minutes left to play when Millikin went up 41-16.
Millikin shot 41 percent from the field and was 29-34 (85 percent) from the free thrown line. Robert Morris-Springfield was held to 38 percent from the field. Both teams struggled from behind the three point arc. Millikin was 1-13 while Robert Morris went 0-11.
Millikin dominated the boards outrebounding Robert Morris 41-21.
Kyle Taylor had a double double for Millikin with 16 points and 13 rebounds, which were both career highs for Taylor. Justin Thompson added 14 points and Nikko Robertson had 10.
The Eagles got 15 points from Steve White and 11 points each from Trey David and Tim Tarver.
Millikin will travel to Aurora University on Saturday, Dec. 4 for a 4 p.m. game.
