Another night of mock selections, and we did them live on the air once again. If you're interested in the nitty-gritty, watch Sunday's Hoopsville Selection Special.
There's no Pool B slot in this tournament any longer, so we jump straight to Pool C, true at-large teams.
Here's who we picked, in order: St. Thomas, Marietta, Amherst, Plattsburgh State, Ohio Wesleyan, Susquehanna, Tufts, North Central (Ill.), Salisbury, Elmhurst, Wooster, Oswego State, WPI, Scranton, Trinity (Conn.), Hope, Whitman, NYU, New Jersey City.
This was a tough slog in Pool C. The first 10 or so are pretty easy but then it gets progressively more difficult. And as we got through to the end of this process, we had a bunch of teams which we could not distinguish among: Scranton, Trinity, Hope, Whitman and NYU. Rather than try to distinguish among them, we put them all in and had one spot left.
We looked closely at a lot of things, and that included the details about which regionally ranked teams they beat. For New Jersey City, that included two wins vs. Stockton, which looks like it will be the No. 1 team in the Atlantic Region.
When the final team was selected, the following teams were left on the board: MIT, Rochester, Swarthmore, Mount Union, LaGrange, Carroll and St. John's.
