Eli Miravich hit a tip-in at the buzzer and Ithaca held John DiBartolomeo without a field goal as Rochester's star point guard played all 40 minutes but scored just two points as Ithaca defeated the Yellowjackets 70-68.

DiBartolomeo was 0-for-8 from the floor and 0-for-5 from 3-point range. Big man Tom Sweeney had a team-high 22 points for the Bombers, who will play Middlebury in the Sweet 16.
"He was in our crosshairs," Ithaca coach Jim Mullins said of DiBartolomeo. "We used a soft trap and tried to get the ball out of his hands. We spent a lot of time working trying to shut him down."
Game sites for the round of 16 will be announced on Sunday.
But Ithaca is far from the biggest Cinderella to advance. That honor clearly belongs to Morrisville State, which won a second consecutive road game in the tournament, defeating Rhode Island College 66-61 in overtime. Mickey Davis scored 17 points on 6-for-18 shooting for the Mustangs, who improved to 24-5.
North Central made sure UW-Whitewater would not repeat as national champion, as the No. 3 Cardinals knocked off the No. 5 Warhawks 64-60. Derek Raridon led the Cardinals with 18 points, while Brandon Williams added 13 in the win. North Central outrebounded Whitewater 33-21.
No. 10 Illinois Wesleyan coughed up a 12-point second half lead but put it away at the end to defeat No. 17 Washington University 71-67. Andrew Ziemnik scored all 10 of his points in the final 3:44 to lead the Titans to the win. Dylan Overstreet scored 16 points on 6-for-13 shooting, while Kevin Reed had 14 points and 14 boards for the Titans.
Jordan Brink scored a game-high 21 points, hitting all five of his 3-point attempts as Calvin got past UW-Stevens Point 67-58 on the road to reach the Sweet 16.
Virginia Wesleyan put five scorers in double figures in beating area rival Christopher Newport 80-69. Chris Teasley had 18 points while Chris Astorga had 13 points and 11 boards.
Joe Hassell netted a team-high 18 points with six rebounds to help propel Randolph-Macon to a 79-68 triumph over No. 4 WPI on Saturday night. It's the Yellow Jackets' first Sweet 16 trip since the 2010 team reached the Final Four. Macon outrebounded WPI 42-23.
Cabrini punched its ticket back to the Sweet 16 with an 84-81 win at Ohio Wesleyan. Aaron Walton-Moss finished an assist shy of a triple-double with 23 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists in the victory. Cabrini gets another shot at Wooster, which rolled over Dickinson 80-54. St. Mary's (Md.) defeated Alvernia 72-66 in a game where St. Mary's was ranked in the D3hoops.com Top 25 but had to go on the road to a team the NCAA rated more highly.
Mary Hardin-Baylor advanced after a week off, outsprinting the run-and-gun Tornados of Concordia (Texas) in a 117-92 win. Brian Todd scored a game-high 28 and James Allen added 27 for the Cru, who advance to play No. 6 Whitworth. The Pirates cruised past Emory 86-67.
All three NESCAC teams in the tournament punched their tickets for the Sweet 16 on Saturday afternoon as No. 8 Williams survived No. 9 Catholic, second-ranked Amherst rolled past Plattsburgh State and No. 7 Middlebury rallied past Cortland State.
Playing without senior guard Shawn Holmes, who hit the game-winner in the Landmark Conference title game, No. 9 Catholic hung with No. 8 Williams. But when big man Chris Kearney also went out with 12:12 left in the game, the Cardinals couldn't hold on and Williams pulled away for the 89-78 win.
Michael Mayer scored a game-high 27 points for the Ephs (25-4) as one of five starters in double figures. Catholic was led by 26 points on 6-for-9 3-point shooting by Steve Limberiou, while Bryson Fonville added 18 and Kearney had 16 in his 23 minutes of action.
Joey Kizel led Middlebury with 22 points on 7-for-12 shooting as the Panthers won 67-63 at Cortland State to advance to the Sweet 16. Middlebury led by as many as nine in the second half before Cortland (24-5) scored 13 unanswered points to take a 55-48 lead. Jake Wolfin scored all five of his points on back-to-back baskets to cut the lead to two, however, and Kizel scored seven of his points in the last three and a half minutes to seal the win for Middlebury (24-3).
Aaron Toomey torched Plattsburgh State to the tune of 25 points on 6-for-12 shooting from beyond the arc as the Lord Jeffs sprinted into the Sweet 16. Amherst showed little rust from the two weeks off, surging to a 23-11 lead by the time the second media timeout came.
Tommy Hannon scored a game-high 18 points and added a game-high 10 rebounds as No. 1 St. Thomas defeated No. 22 Wheaton (Ill.) 68-58. The Tommies got to the line 39 times and made 28 of them in front of a raucous crowd in St. Paul. Thunder star Tyler Peters fouled out with 6:16 left in the loss.
Merrilee Weston
