Gabby Holko Marywood picked the women's basketball coach that will lead the Pacers into their new conference next season. Gabby Holko, who was an assistant at nearby Lackawanna (Pa.) College, fills the vacancy created when Tara Macciocco took the head job at Wilkes.

"Marywood University has all of the right tools in place to attract high level student-athletes who will get us to the top of the newly formed Atlantic East Conference," said Holko in the school's release. "The prior head coaches that I worked with instilled within me a high energy coaching style and strong work ethic which I am excited to bring to the Pacer family."

Holko spent one season as the assistant head coach and Senior Woman Administrator at Lackawanna College in Scranton. Previously Holko coached one season as an assistant to Kate Costanza at Allegheny and two seasons as a graduate assistant at Misericordia.

Holko played four seasons at Westminster from 2010 to 2014 where she was team captain and a second-team all-conference selection.

She replaces Tara Macciocco who left Marywood after 14 seasons with the Pacers to become the new head coach at nearby Wilkes.

The Pacers are on the move themselves, joining six other schools in creating a new conference called the Atlantic East. Marywood will be joined by fellow former CSAC members Cabrini, Gwynedd Mercy, Immaculata and Neumann plus CAC members Marymount and Wesley.

Marywood went 15-13, 12-4 in the CSAC last season.
