Aaron Toomey (left) and Olivia Lett followed up their stellar playing collegiate career with a season in the Spanish pro leagues before returning to Division III as coaches.

While most Division III athletes "go pro in something other than sports," a few do turn their collegiate success into a professional basketball career.

On this month's Around the Nation podcast, we spoke with two recent national players of the year who did so, Aaron Toomey and Olivia Lett.

Toomey and Lett had similar journeys. Both won national championships during their college basketball career and then played professionally in Spain. They've also both returned to Division III basketball as coaches. Lett is the new head coach at Millikin University and Toomey is on staff at his alma mater Amherst. Toomey also talks about his return to the court as a player on the team of former Division III all-stars competing in The Basketball Tournament.
