No. 12 UW-Whitewater beat No. 3 UW-Oshkosh in dramatic fashion to take the first of two regular season games between the WIAC favorites while No. 5 Hope won on the road at No. 9 Trine.

Camri Conley hit a mid-range jumper as the clock expired to lift Whitewater over Oshkosh 54-52 in the conference opener for both teams on Wednesday night. The game was low scoring, as is typically the case for these two teams, with the Titans leading the Warhawks 36-34 entering the final period. The teams' offenses got on track in the final period and Oshkosh built a 51-47 lead with 51 seconds left. Brooke Trewyn converted two free throws for Whitewater (11-1, 1-0 WIAC) on its next possession and Malia Smith converted a three-point play to tie the score with 34 seconds left.
Oshkosh called a 30 second time out but the Titans' three-point attempt was blocked by Conley and Whitewater called a timeout to set up the game-winning shot (video below). Recap
The victory is Keri Carollo's 300th at UW-Whitewater in 16 seasons. Eliza Campbell had a double-double for Oshkosh (10-1, 0-1 WIAC).
No. 7 Hope picked up a big road win in the MIAA title hunt as the Flying Dutch knocked off Trine 57-46, despite playing without All-American Francesca Buchanan. Freshman post player Olivia Voskuil recorded a double-double (10 points, 15 rebounds) in her first start and Hope held the Thunder to 30 percent shooting. Hope (13-0, 4-0 MIAA) has a one-game lead on Trine, Albion and Calvin and victories over the first two teams. Recap
Lancaster Bible gave No. 17 Juniata a scare before falling to the Eagles, 62-57. Morgan Instone posted 14 points and 12 rebounds for Juniata (12-0) which heads to Catholic for a big Landmark Conference game on Saturday.
The top four teams in the NEWMAC played each other and Babson and WPI picked up victories. The Beavers (8-4, 4-0 NEWMAC) outlasted MIT 50-46 in overtime behind Payton Ouimette's double-double (15 points, 19 rebounds). WPI defeated Springfield 54-49, sending the Pride to its first conference loss of the season.
Stevens had to host its game against Elmira at nearby Kean because of facility issues, but the Ducks looked right at home in a 72-62 victory over the Soaring Eagles. Megan Brown approached a triple-double with 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
